Big Bass Fishing - PSX - Sports Simulation
Big Bass Fishing offers three gameplay modes, Arcade, Competition, and Challenge, as well as five specific events for anglers looking to wet their hooks while staying dry. Avoid bugs, insects, and bad weather as you try to outwit the big one in Free Fishing mode, Beat-the-Clock challenges, 2-Day Lunker, and 3-Day All Release contests, or the ultimate 3-Day Tournament. Unlock new locations via 15-minute timed events featuring goals such as catching two fish of any type, or reeling in two or three largemouth, smallmouth, or spotted bass of at least seven pounds in separate challenges. Arcade mode requires you to catch five fish in five minutes, with an additional 90 seconds added for each one caught, and each time five fish are netted, you automatically move to a new location. Fourteen species of freshwater fish can be hooked, including multiple types of bass, bluegill, and more, in a dozen locations based in two lakes, a river, and a reservoir. The only fisherman in the game is a woman and you have no interactive control over boat movement. Gameplay consists of choosing the best of a wide selection of lures for each situation, casting, and reeling in the fish while using optional gauges that indicate line tension, fish interest, and the effectiveness of the lure. Two camera angles offer perspectives from behind the angler in the boat or underwater from a fish-eye view, and you can track the top catches of each type of fish in each event via the game's record section.
